25 October 2013: Translation Studies Day 2013
Today, two new studies on translation and multilingualism will be discussed by experts in legal translation and in intercultural studies at an event in Brussels, Belgium.
The first study: “[ http://ec.europa.eu/dgs/translation/publications/studies/document_quality_control_en.pdf ]Document quality control in public administrations and international organisations” reviews drafting procedures in various (inter)national contexts, with recommendations and best practices.
The second study:”[ http://ec.europa.eu/dgs/translation/publications/studies/translation_language_learning_en.pdf ]Translation and language learning”, focuses on translation and its usefulness in primary, secondary and higher education.
At the event, young researchers from the European Master’s in Translation (EMT) universities will make presentations of their researches on related topics.
Directorate-General for Translation’s new interns from Brussels and Luxembourg will also join discussion.
Participants include representatives from universities, the language industry, language institutes and professional associations.
