Call for participants: 8th Africa-Europe Training Course for Youth Organisations, 10 – 20 July 201 Mindelo, São Vicente – Cape Verde, in the frame of the 4th African University on Youth and Development.

The Training Course is organised by the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe in the framework of the Joint Management Agreement between the European Commission – EuropeAid Co-operation Office and the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe, in collaboration with the Cape Verde Federation of Youth, the Portuguese National Youth Council, the Youth Forum of the Portuguese Speaking Countries, the Pan African Youth Union and the European Youth Forum.

The aim is to strengthen the role of youth organisations as civil society actors and youth ability to organise and take action as well as strengthen its political participation and identify educational principles to promote the global citizenship of young people in Europe and Africa.

During the course, participants will develop competences and tools to strengthen their political participation in the context of the Africa-EU Strategic Partnership. Equally, with a regard to poverty eradication and social cohesion on the Euro-African context, developing also competences for the capacity-building of their organisations as civil society actors in the development process.

The Course will have a participation fee of 25€ for African participants and 50€ for European participants, this fee will be paid during the course.

Representatives of youth organisations in Europe and Africa, between 18 and 30, and able to work and communicate in English and/or French, are invited to send their application form to nsc.africaeurope-youthsummit@coe.int by the 10 June 2012.
