A call to join the team of volunteers for the European men‘s basketball championship in Lithuania has been issued. Basketball fans are presented with a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of “EuroBasket 2011” and work alongside top stars of European basketball.
This year between August 31 and September 18 one of Europe‘s biggest sporting events – the 37th European men‘s basketball championship – will take place in Lithuania. “EuroBasket 2011” will be held in six Lithuanian cities: Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai, Panevezys and Alytus. For the first time, 24 of Europe’s best basketball teams will participate in the championship.
To make this event successful the Lithuanian Youth Council (LiJOT) and “EuroBasket 2011” are looking for a team of volunteers. All basketball fans are welcome to submit their applications.
Do you want to volunteer at EuroBasket 2011?
Anyone with enough motivation can become a volunteer of “EuroBasket 2011” by just filling in the application form until March 25, 2011. The application form and relevant information as well as FAQs can be found online at www.eurodesk.lt and www.eurobasket2011.com.
In early April the selection committee will form a team of 1600 volunteers. If you happen to be selected, you will be informed personally until mid-April, 2011, and invited to participate in the first training course for volunteers, which will take place on April 29, 2011, in Kaunas, Lithuania.
Volunteers from all countries are welcome!
The “EuroBasket 2011” Draw will take place this Sunday in the Lithuanian capital city, Vilnius. The Draw will divide qualified teams into groups and assign cities to each match.
