Co-organized by the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Council of the European Union and the Polish Presidency, the 2nd European Conference on Public Communication will be organized in Brussels, 19-20 October 2011, within the premises of the Committee of the Regions.
The two-day conference will give the platform to top representatives of the institutional EU partners, external key note speakers and public communication experts. Parallel workshops presenting best practice from EU institutions, member states, regional and local authorities will be organised around four thematic strands: Branding regions, cities, countries and the EU; Communicating policies through press and media; Social networking; Communicating Europe at a local level.
More specifically, the aims of EuroPCom is to improve public sector communication by:
• sharing best practices among public communicators of major European, national, regional and local institutions, about themes such as branding, social media or dialogue with citizens;
• stimulating active involvement of decentralised communicators in the communication strategy of the European institutions;
• enhancing transfer of professional communication know-how towards all political levels;
• facilitating networking among those working in public communication across the EU.
Please note: there are no fees to attend the conference, however accomodation and transport have to be covered by the participants.
