European Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation

The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation (DGT) has launched a Call for applications for 2014-2019 to join the European Master’s in Translation (EMT) network.

The European Masters in Translation (EMT) network is a partnership between the European Commission and universities who offer MA programmes in translation.

The aim of the project is to establish a quality label for university translation programmes that meet agreed standards in relation to curriculum, teaching, professional preparation, infrastructure and facilities.

 

Eligible universities may apply if their programme:

– is already in place in (and authorised by) an EU country

– is an authorised programme run by a university in certain non-EU countries (prospective new member countries, countries taking part in the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) or the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland and Russia).

Programmes from these countries will be granted observer status.

 

Existing members wishing to renew their membership must re-apply with a complete file, selection cannot be guaranteed.

 

The deadline to submit applications: 16 December 2013, 12:00 CET.

The results will be published by 2 June 2014.
