Dear friends of sustainability, change makers and the young generation,
We would like to invite young people from your country and network (between 18 and 28 years) to join our Youth Future Conference. We can offer full scholarships for all travel-expenses and participation fee. We are especially looking for participants from North-, West and Southeurope.
We would like to ask you to forward this EMail to potential participants, organisations and active young people.
We, the Youth Future Project, are 15 students from Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark, who are currently organizing the Youth Future Conference 2013 with the support of the Right Livelihood Award Foundation (awards the “Alternative Nobel Prize”) and the German Environmental Foundation. The Youth Future Project is an international youth network for sustainable development and the conference has been awarded as an official UN/Unesco decade project for “education for sustainable development”.

During the first week of September 2013 we will bring together 120 young and committed people from all around Europe – to collaborate for one week with the laureates of the German Environmental Prize and the Right Livelihood Award
Some of our speakers will be Prof. Dr. Ernst U. von Weizsäcker (Club of Rome), Prof. Dr. Michael Succow (Natura 2000, Uni Greifswald), Nnimmo Bassey (Friends of the Earth International), Prof. Dr. Anwar Fazal (Consumer Interpol), Dr. Georg Winter (Entrepreneurs for Sustainability), Prof. Dr. Rainer Grießhammer (Eco-Institute Freiburg).
Urgent topics around sustainability will be discussed in an innovative, inter-disciplinary and holistic way. 9 workshops are offered where experts, laureates and participants will work together on an eye-to-eye basis to find solutions for urgent environmental problems. The conference is supposed to enable participants to make new personal experiences and encounter new approaches to sustainability issues. The multi-perspective approach is going to encourage participants to go beyond (academic) disciplinary frames.
An additional aim is to start projects during or after the conference week. We can offer a one-year financial support for 6 attending projects.
We can offer scholarships (covering the travel-expenses and participation-fee) for participants from any European country.
We would appreciate if you could call for participants among your network, mention us on your homepage or include us in your newsletter. We would kindly like to welcome some of the members of your network at our conference.
The application is now open for young adults, students and practitioners (up to 28 years) of all areas interested in the conference topics. Background knowledge is helpful but not necessary.
