The first vice-president of the European Parliament, Mr Gianni Pittella, and the vice-president of the European Economic and Social Committee, Ms Anna Maria Darmanin, who is responsible for the EESC’s communication policy, want to engage the younger generation in relaunching the community project: 5 Ideas for a Younger Europe. In the next months, they will be visiting some European universities to meet young political science and communication students. These meetings want to be an occation to have participated and interactive debates on the future of the European Union and the part young people have to play in this path. The aim of this initiative is to garner the thoughts, expectations, concerns and hopes of young European students as the raw material for 5 ideas 4 a younger Europe, which will be submitted to the European Parliament and the European Economic and Social Committee.
The campaign will be officially launched today, 4 October, with a press conference in the European Parliament.
