Please find underneath some information which might interest you regarding a training programme being organised by MITA, this is not obligatory only those who are interested and have the necessary qualifications may apply.
Last August, the Malta Information Technology Agency (MITA) spearheaded Second Step – a Training Programme co-financed by the European Union. Following the very positive feedback received for the first call, it was decided to introduce a second call of applications.
Second Step is a free training programme that will commence on March 2011 and ends on June 2012.
This programme leads successful students to one of the following BTEC National Diplomas:
Computing and Information Systems
Information Technology or
Individuals who possess any one of the following entry requirements are eligible to apply:
4 Ordinary Levels (passes A-C or 1-5 or the equivalent) in Mathematics, Computer Studies (or ECDL Core – subject to an aptitude test), English and one subject from Physics/Accounting/Business Studies;
Any Level 3 European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF) qualification that is related to IT or Engineering;
Students who have successfully completed the First Step Programme (subject to an aptitude test);
Candidates with a minimum of three years work experience within the ICT industry (subject to an aptitude test).
Placements are limited and subject to a pre-defined selection criteria.
