Winners of 2013 Nobel Prize in Physics
Professors Peter Higgs and François Englert have won the 2013 Nobel Prize for Physics thanks to their work on the Higgs boson.
The particle, which has been nicknamed the God particle because it proved very difficult to detect, helps to explain how the universe got its mass.
The experiments leading to the discovery were held at CERN – European Organization for Nuclear Research.
