Young. Skilled. Unemployed.

4 September 2013: Event “Young. Skilled. Unemployed.” Brussels, Belgium

In the context of the recent adoption by the European Council of a comprehensive plan to combat youth unemployment, PlasticsEurope, in close collaboration with EU40, is organising a half-day debate about the employment crisis faced by young people in Europe. The event seeks to trigger a dialogue between policy makers and seven young students from across the European Union who will soon be facing the challenge of finding a job. These students, who have previously excelled in PlasticsEurope’s Youth Parliament Debates, will have the opportunity to discuss the topic of youth unemployment with the following speakers:

• José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission

• Gianni Pittella, MEP and First Vice President of European Parliament

• Patrick Thomas, CEO Bayer MaterialScience

• Daniele Ferrari, CEO Versalis

• Katarína Neved’alová, MEP

The event will take place on 4 September 2013, from 14.00 to 16.00, at the European Parliament, Brussels.
